Day 3: The Brewery & Water Park

Day 3: The Brewery & Water Park

Seth did sleep well, only a few cries but nothing needing a get up. Both kids woke up at 7am but Rach came to the rescue singing “Jingle Bells” and a selection of songs from Julie & The Phantoms – serenading Seth back to sleep. After breakfast Rach and I did some more bubbles and frisbee outside (a few more this time!).

Sarah & Seth checked out the laundry. Seth was very interested in all the buttons and machines, and was quite busy around the place. We all then went to the playground for a bounce and play. I zoned out for a while on the tyre/rope swing, staring into the sky, having many profound thoughts about life.

Nearing 11am we cracked the whip and decided to head into town. Rachael demonstrated her latest phrase “What the fuck?!” on the veranda of the cabin. We were shocked and very amused – she agreed to go back to her trademark “What the heck?!” in future after we told her that it was bad.

We arrived in town and went straight to the water park. Rach screamed and had a blast with Dad, shooting water cannons and running through all the water features. It ended with Dad getting soaked by the big bucket. Rach was still on a high after the water park and well into our Brewery visit.

Chips were demolished by Seth, Pizza by Mum & Dad and Rach only wanted the chips – but did enjoy her Billson’s Raspberry Soda. Perhaps a bit of a gamble since she was still buzzing from the water park anyway.

High-tailed it back home as Seth started to fade. He had a good nap at home while Rach convinced Mum to take her to the pool, even though it was a bit fresh outside despite it being sunny. The sun did come through some more and she had a decent visit. She also wrangled Dad later in the afternoon out of the beer & pizza coma to go to the camp playground.

She played with a new friend Charlie, and her older brother Josh. I shot some hoops and let her have some friends time (also only kids were allowed on the ‘bus’, no parents). Charlie was quite forward and go-getting – quite a little champ – “Reece? That’s a strange name for a boy!”. Rach loved playing with her. Rach also managed to get another 15min session after dinner and before bath where she got to see them again – she was wrapping up dinner very quickly to do so. I got to have some chats with all the parents who were very nice.

The kangaroo jumper was deflating but that didn’t stop the kids from having fun. Seth, when he got up from his nap was stomping around and laughing and showing his belly. He is loving holiday and is always busy going everywhere around the cabin. Bathed and in bed, he was very good again, and Rach called it a bit early again too. What a big day of playing!
