A Round of Golf

Some player reviews, after a round of golf in 2005, that I found sitting in one of my old blog exports. It was part of a bigger blog outlining the events of one busy day.

Reece – had to warm up golf-wise and once he did, spanked it off the tee. One memorable shot was when he drove off the tee and the ball went up 80m but only went forwards about 20m. His drive on a Par 3 went just beautifully to the right of the green – but we were unable to find it (it was a good spanking). This kid was sinking unbelievably extremely long putts on the practice green, but didn’t achieve such marvels in the real game, although close.

Glenn – started off a total golf hack, but improved considerably as the day went on. His drive on the 3rd came close to hitting a moving fairway mower, but curved a little to miss it. A scary moment! His drives were top notch, but he made up for this with his poor putting. Glenn also sported some new found ignorance in being a somewhat supposedly better player.

Tom – managed a few good shots, of which were very good. Other times though he appeared frustrated with his game and resorted to destructive behaviour. The worst of which was throwing a golf tee into Glenn’s eye. (nb. Glenn may have been asking for it, with his attitude and comments, I can’t remember.)

Hudge – the left wing left hander. With his ‘special’ clubs he swung his way into a decent game. Hudge was quite obviously the worst golf player to begin with, in not having the ability to strike the ball with the club. But, he eventually hit it and away he went. Good drives followed and he played an exceptional short game, with putts that would send a crowd into a quiet golf clap frenzy.
