5 Months of München – Oktoberfest Wrap Up
Sadly, Oktoberfest 2015 has drawn to a close and I am still nursing a stomach that has been severely punished by beer and festivities. I did manage to get to the Wies’n 6 times over the two-and-a-bit weeks and enjoyed it on various levels, ranging from a casual stroll to a beer drinking kamikaze mission.
The Schedule
I planned out and mapped a schedule for the entire Oktoberfest period which included expected traffic/peak periods, festival events and visitors. I was not going to miss any opportunity to get among the festivities!
The Visits

Tuesday 22nd September – Sony Music @ Käfer Wiesn-Schänke
Read all about my experiences in one of the most elusive and exclusive tents at Oktoberfest here
Thursday 24th September – Augustiner Bräustuben & Wiesn Walkaround
I had to work this day, but everyone else seemed to have a good time without me at Hacker Festzelt! Check out photos from inside the tent and read about what happened afterwards here
Wednesday 30th September – Schottenhamel Tent
We spent an afternoon in the tent where it all began …and ended. Read about it here
Friday 2nd October – Augustiner Festhalle, Old Wiesn
I have said about this day: “The most I have, and probably will ever, drink in my life”. Read about it here
Sunday 4th October – Hacker Festzelt Biergarten/Rides
It’s endgame and it’s time to do all the things we haven’t yet done …before the opportunity disappears forever. Read about it here
The Verdict
So, how does it compare to Oktoberfest back home? Well…
