Campus Lauf 2015

The before Oktoberfest starts!

Some training logs:

Saturday, 15 August 2015 @ 12:07 PM [Log]

Type: Intervals and medium pace run
Distance: 6.68km
Time: 46 mins

Within the first minute tight piriformis felt like a syringe leg. This has been coming and going lately and I need to work on it more. Last night, I had a large homemade currywurst/spatzle dinner. I think there was enough fat in that combo that I was like a energy candle burning bright during the run.

Type: Medium pace run
Distance: 6.64km
Time: 40 mins

Much cooler weather than the last run made for a more enjoyable lauf! There was lots of leg stretching before leaving to try and work out the my leg ping. I had a milkreis about half an hour before we went out for the run and I think it unintentionally worked a treat. The milkreis was much more sensible option that the currywurst the night before my last run.

I ran with Sarah at the start, but she was really tired and had huge stitches so I went off at my normal (too fast) starting pace. I ran the extra loop around the lake and managed to rejoin Sarah shortly after. We walked for a bit to discuss progress and then we started to run again – Sarah stayed with me as long as possible! I ran all the way back and up the hill near home where I peaked at 191bpm heart rate.

I stretched for a good 15 minutes before Sarah rejoined me back at the apartment (she had the keys!). It was much needed. This run represented 2/3 of the time of the Campus Lauf event, and I felt ok, so should be well on my way!
